BOBBY STEGGERT (Mother’s Younger Brother) originated the role of Mother’s Younger Brother at the Kennedy Center after last season’s Broadway: Three Generations. New York: the Broadway revival of 110 in the Shade (Outer Critics nomination), the Vineyard Theater’s The Slug Bearers of Kayrol Island (Drama Desk and Drama League nominations), Master Harold…and the boys (Broadway), columbinus (New York Theater Workshop), The Music Teacher (New Group), Mordred in Camelot (Live at Lincoln Center on PBS), and Yank! at the Gallery Players. Regional appearances include L.A. Theaterworks, St. Louis Rep, Milwaukee Rep, Pioneer Theater, Olney Theater, and Walnut Street Theater. Film/TV: The Namesake, Game Six, Night Swimming, Kinsey, For Richer or Poorer, and a year as Sam Grey on “All My Children.” He is a graduate of NYU and studied Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.

BIOGRAPHY:

Barbara Cook’s association with Stephen Sondheim began in 1985 when she starred as Sally in the NY Philharmonic’s now legendary concerts of Follies and continued with her Tony Award nominated concert Mostly Sondheim. As a leading star on Broadway during the 50’s and 60’s, her many credits include the creation of three classic roles in the musical theatre:  Cunegonde in Candide, Marian in The Music Man (Tony Award) and Amalia in She Loves Me (Drama Desk Award).  In 1974, Ms. Cook embarked on a concert and recording career, achieving one career high after another from  her solo concert debut at Carnegie Hall in 1975 to her historic solo concert at the MET in 2006 when she became the first female non-classical singer to be presented by the Metropolitan Opera in that company’s long history. The most recent of the many recordings by this Grammy Award winner is the 6-cd boxed set The Essential Barbara Cook.(DRG Records).

ANGELA LANSBURY (Madame Armfeldt) has enjoyed an unprecedented career spanning more than sixty years, first as a star of motion pictures, and as an award-winning stage actor in New York and London. Most recently, she appeared as Madame Arcati in the 2009 revival of Noël Coward’s Blithe Spirit, for which she won her fifth Tony Award®, as well as the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards; and in 2006 in Terrence McNally’s Deuce, for which she was also nominated for a Tony®. She made her Broadway debut in 1957 as Bert Lahr’s wife in Hotel Paradiso. In 1960, she returned to Broadway as Joan Plowright’s mother in the season’s most acclaimed drama, A Taste of Honey, by Shelagh Delaney. A year later, she starred in her first musical, Anyone Can Whistle. Lansbury returned to Broadway in triumph in 1966 as Mame, for which she won her first Tony®. She received others as the Madwoman of Chaillot in Dear World (1968), as Mama Rose in the 1974 revival of Gypsy and as Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd (1979). From 1984-1996 she starred as Jessica Fletcher, mystery-writing amateur sleuth, on “Murder, She Wrote,” the longest-running detective drama series in the history of television, winning her four Golden Globe Awards. In 1994, Queen Elizabeth named her a Commander of the British Empire, and in 2000 she received the Kennedy Center Honors. Married in 1949, she and husband Peter worked together until his death in 2003. She has three children and three grandchildren.
