Guthrie Theater’s Sea Change scores high marks in Zagat Survey

Guthrie Theater’s Sea Change Scores High Marks in 2011 Zagat Survey

(Minneapolis/St.Paul) Sea Change restaurant in Minneapolis joins the ranks of America’s Top Restaurants in the recently released 2011 Zagat Survey. Located in the stunning Guthrie Theater on the Mississippi Riverfront, Sea Change has a core menu focused on sustainable seafood and scored at the top of the “very good to excellent” category in all areas, with a 25 for food, 25 for décor and 24 for service.

According to Zagat, the pre-show set calls the Guthrie’s flagship eatery a “change for the better,” with “phenomenal” sustainable seafood served in “unique preparations,” brought by “courteous” servers alongside “amazing wines” and “cool drinks.” Reviewers also praised the theatrical setting, the open-kitchen bar and patios, all of which makes Sea Change “worth a visit even if you’re not attending” a play.

Conceived by 2009 James Beard Award-winning Chef Tim McKee, Sea Change operates under the direction of Chef De Cuisine Erik Anderson.

The GUTHRIE THEATER (Joe Dowling, Director) was founded by Sir Tyrone Guthrie in 1963 and is an American center for theater performance, production, education and professional training. The Tony Award-winning Guthrie Theater is dedicated to producing the great works of dramatic literature, developing the work of contemporary playwrights and cultivating the next generation of theater artists. With annual attendance of nearly 500,000 people, the Guthrie Theater presents a mix of classic plays and contemporary work on its three stages. Under the artistic leadership of Joe Dowling since 1995, the Guthrie continues to set a national standard for excellence in theatrical production and performance. In 2006, the Guthrie opened its new home on the banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, the Guthrie Theater houses three state-of-the-art stages, production facilities, classrooms and dramatic public lobbies.
