SHUBERT ALLEY & WEST 44TH STREET

Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS steps outside and into the sunlight for The 24TH Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction which will be held Sunday, September 26 from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM in Shubert Alley & West 44th Street. This not-to-be-missed event for any serious Broadway theatergoer is free and open to the public and was named by Time Out New York as one of the “Best Once-a-Year Markets” in New York City.  From posing with your favorite Broadway star for photos to buying that lost cast recording, signed show posters and Playbills, rare costume sketches or special gift for a theatre-lover you can’t find anywhere – this year’s Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction promises to offer something for everyone.

One of the most popular sites at Broadway’s “one-day sale” is the Celebrity Autograph Table at which your favorite stars from Broadway, Off-Broadway and Daytime Drama sign autographs and pose for photos in exchange for donations to BC/EFA.

Specific items for sale at the Flea Market, packages to be auctioned, and stars to appear at the Celebrity Autograph Table will be announced at www.BroadwayCares.org.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is one of the nation’s leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations.  By drawing upon the talents, resources and generosity of the American theatre community, since 1988 BC/EFA has raised over $175 million for essential services for people with AIDS and other critical illnesses across the United States.

BC/EFA is the major supporter of seven programs at The Actors’ Fund – including The AIDS Initiative, The Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative, The Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic, The Dancers’ Resource and three supportive housing residences.  BC/EFA also awards annual grants to over 400 AIDS and family service organizations nationwide.
