Broadway’s LOOPED Announces Casting of Brian Hutchison and Michael Mulheren

BRIAN HUTCHISON AND MICHAEL MULHEREN

JOIN COMPANY OF “LOOPED”

STARRING VALERIE HARPER

The producers of LOOPED, the new Broadway comedy, announced today that Brian Hutchison and Michael Mulheren will complete the company.  They join Valerie Harper in the Matthew Lombardo comedy, directed by Rob Ruggiero.  LOOPED will play the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street). Previews begin on February 19 and opening night is Sunday March 14.

Brian Hutchison’s recently appeared on Broadway in Exit the King.  His other Broadway credits are The Invention of Love and Proof .  Off-Broadway includes  From Up Here;  Oh The Humanity;  Mr. Marmalade; People Be Heard; Indoor/Outdoor;The Hiding Place; Theophilus North; Can’t Let Go  and She Stoops to Conquer.  Film and TV:  “Love and other Drugs,” “Ghostown,” “Dealbreaker,” “Hope & Faith,” “Law & Order: SVU,” and “CI.”

Michael Mulheren has appeared on Broadway in  The Farnsworth Invention, Deuce, La Cage aux Folles, The Boy from Oz, Kiss Me, Kate (Tony, Drama Desk nominations), Titanic, and On the Waterfront.  Encores!: Damn Yankees, Do Re Mi, Li’l Abner, Of Thee I Sing . Off-Broadway: Captains Courageous, Floyd Collins, and The Fantasticks.  TV includes FX’s “Rescue Me,” “Law & Order,”  “30 Rock,” and “The West Wing.” Film includes Fool’s Gold, Pride and Glory, Martin Scorsese’s Bringing Out the Dead, and Woody Allen’s The Curse of the Jade Scorpion.

LOOPED tells the story of Tallulah Bankhead, the internationally celebrated actress, being called into a sound studio in 1965 to re-record (or “loop”) one line of dialogue for what would be her last film — the dreadful “Die, Die My Darling.”  Southern, but by no means a belle, Ms. Bankhead was known for her wild partying and convention-defying exploits that surpassed even today’s celebrity bad girls. Given her inebriated state and inability to loop the line properly, what ensues is an uproarious showdown between an uptight film editor and the outrageous legend.

LOOPED will play Tue at 7, Wed-Fri at 8, Wed at 2, Sat at 2 & 8, and Sun. at 3 PM.
