Dancing with the Stars’ Kym Johnson

Makes Broadway debut in

BURN THE FLOOR

THIS FRIDAY NOV 27 AT 2 PM

Partnered with DWTS’ MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY

Earlier this week, Dancing with the Stars’ pro Kym Johnson took home first place with Donny Osmond on the highly-rated TV show; she will close her Thanksgiving week by making her Broadway debut in BURN THE FLOOR, the sizzling dance sensation running at The Longacre Theatre (220 W 48 St.).  Her first performance will be Friday November 27 at 2 PM. She will be partnered with DWTS’ Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who made his Broadway debut in the show this summer.

Kym has a long history with BURN THE FLOOR.  She was in the original workshop for the show in London in 1998 and toured the world with it from 1998 -2004 before joining DWTS Australia.

About making her debut on the Great White Way, Kym said, “I am so excited. Broadway has been a dream of mine since I was a kid.”

BURN THE FLOOR was the first Broadway show of the new season and opened August, going on to break box office records at the Longacre Theatre.  The NY Daily News called it “Athletic, sensual and rocket-fueled.”  Bloomberg.com called it “Utterly theatrical” and NY 1 TV called it “Hot, hot, hot.*  Pulse pounding choreography.  A two hour adrenaline rush featuring some of the best and best-looking ballroom dancers in the world.”      The show has just announced its third and final extension through February 24 2010 before embarking on Australian, Asian and U.S. tours.
