Obie Award Winners
The 54th annual Obie Awards, celebrating excellence in Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway theatre, were presented last night.
THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN has received a performance award (Aaron Monaghan).
HUMOR ABUSE, which concluded an extended engagement this spring at Manhattan Theatre Club, received a performance Obie (Lorenzo Pisoni).
RUINED, currently playing at Manhattan Theatre Club, has received four Obie Awards: Best New American Play (Lynn Nottage), and three performance awards (Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, and Russell G. Jones).
Not for profit company awards:
ATLANTIC THEATER COMPANY received an award for THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN.
MANHATTAN THEATRE CLUB productions won five Obie Awards: four for RUINED and one for HUMOR ABUSE.
