The international stage hit DIRTY DANCING – THE CLASSIC STORY ON STAGE makes its East Coast premiere at the Boston Opera House on Saturday, February 7, and has already been extended through Sunday, April 12 due to unprecedented ticket demand.

Eleanor Bergstein infuses stage version with political punch her film held back

It’s hard to imagine that anyone would have ever been able to put Eleanor Bergstein – the real Baby – in a corner.

Bergstein, who wrote and produced the 1987 hit film “Dirty Dancing” and now brings us “Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage,” is strong and articulate. She’s an optimist who fights for what she believes in. She came of age in the 1960s, after all.

DIRTY DANCING – THE CLASSIC STORY ON STAGE plays The Opera House in Boston from February 7 through April 12, 2009.  Performances are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:30p; Friday evenings at 8:00p; Saturdays at 2:00p and 8:00p and Sundays at 2:00p and 7:30p.

Please note: Wed 2/11 at 7:00p; no 2:00p performance on Sat 2/7; there will be an Open Captioned performance Sun 3/8 at 2pm.
